Akaso was stoked to be part of the legendary Climb Smart event last week in Joshua Tree National Park. This isn’t just any climbing meet-up—Friends of Joshua Tree has been hosting this gathering for 29 years, making it one of the longest-running climbing events in the Western Hemisphere.
This year’s lineup of presenters was nothing short of iconic. Climbing legends Lynn Hill and Hans Florine graced the stage, sharing stories and wisdom from their deep-rooted connections to Joshua Tree. Whether you’re a seasoned climber or just starting out, these two are the definition of inspiration. We tried to get Lynn to do a night climb, as part of the demo, perhaps next year.
We showed up to introduce our game-changing SeeMor Camera, and let me tell you, the climbers were really interested to check out this new night vision camera. The SeeMor isn’t just a camera—it’s a whole new way to capture your after dark adventures, see wildlife, and discover a world we don't usually see.
One of the coolest parts of Climb Smart is how it rolls on into the evening at the dramatic Indian Cove Amphitheater. This gave attendees the perfect chance to experience the SeeMor’s revolutionary night vision capabilities. The reactions? Priceless. "Oh my God, that’s incredible!" was the most-heard phrase of the night. Even some of the Park Service staff, who’ve seen it all, were blown away. It’s one thing to talk about low-light performance; it’s another to see it in action, and the SeeMor delivered.
We’re all about connecting with the climbing community and supporting amazing organizations like Friends of Joshua Tree. If you didn’t get a chance to see the SeeMor at the event, don’t worry—we’ll be hitting up more events soon. Until then, check out our website to learn more about the SeeMor Camera and how it’s changing the game for outdoor adventurers.
Keep climbing, keep capturing, and keep pushing limits!
